Stephen and Rebecca Mills

The Mills serve as Academic Dean of Berea Theological University (BTU) in Lusaka, Zambia. BTU is the continent-wide ministry training school for Africa, offering Bachelor of Arts degrees in theology, ministry and leadership, and chaplaincy. BTU has recently received full university status which will authorize the school to offer Masters and Doctoral programs as well. The school’s mission is to “Raise Up Pastors and Leaders to Reach Africa” through formal education, practical training, church planting, evangelism, chaplaincy, and community transformation initiatives.

Since 1982, the Mills have served around the world in a variety of ministry roles, mainly as local church pastors. They have also served in Germany as Christian Servicemen’s Center director, as a teacher for Lee University (on-campus, online, and off-campus extension) and Pentecostal Theological Seminary, and President of Pan African University College in Ghana. Stephen has also done short-term missions work in Lima, Peru; Kenya, Africa; Togo, Africa; and Zambia, Africa.

Their years living and traveling in Africa have given the Mills a great burden to increase educational opportunities in Africa. They have seen God’s Spirit being poured out around the continent. The Great Commission declares that we must make disciples and teach them all that Christ has commanded. Dr. Mills’ calling is to help equip the rising leaders across Africa so that the believers can know their faith and lead God’s people until Jesus returns.
