Jim’s Kids is a ministry to children at risk in Brazil founded by John and Kathy Hayes in 1999. Jim’s Kids supports ministries that feed children in the megacity of São Paulo, indigenous tribal children in the Amazon Basin, children located in small fishing communities on the tributaries of the Amazon River, and now poor rural communities in Northeastern Brazil.

John and Kathy Hayes have ministered as missionaries to Brazil since 1983. They directed a missionary training center for Latin Americans in São Paulo for 24 years while planting churches, directing a seminary, and founding ministries to children at risk. They moved to the Amazon Basin region in in 2007 where they served as a pastor, overseer, and church planter of over 30 churches. They founded a ministry to the 121 unreached tribal people of the Amazon in 2008 called the Arrowhead Project. They are currently focused on mobilizing ministry to other unreached people groups in Brazil.

The children’s ministry continues to rescue children from the child abuse, drug trafficking, sex trafficking, poverty, and violence that plague the poor communities of Brazil. Many of the children rescued from the streets through the power of the gospel have been transformed, and many dysfunctional families have come to know Christ through this ministry. Various churches have been planted as a result of the evangelization and discipleship of children.

Our ministry to children is focused on several unreached people groups with the strategy of reaching the 4-14 Window to preach the gospel to the most receptive section of the populations of each people group.
