Jivko and Maite Jacobs
Europe/Middle East
From 2004 until today, Jivko and Maite have been the lead pastors at Crossroads Church in Freudenstadt, Germany. Since 2018, Jikvo has also been serving as the Regional Superintendent of the region of Central West Europe for the Church of God World Missions. This region includes the countries of Austria, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, and Switzerland. Previously, from 2004 to 2012, he led the Youth & Discipleship department of the European Church of God and the large wakeUP Youth Conferences over New Year’s Eve. From 2012 to 2018, he served as the Foreign Missions Director for the Church of God in Germany.
Jivko was born and raised in a Pentecostal family in Sliven, Bulgaria. The great revival in Bulgaria in 1989-93 left a lasting imprint on his spiritual calling and vocation. In his youth, he served as a worship and youth leader and helped to organize the largest evangelical Karandila National Youth Camp with a team. In 1999, he began his theological education in Germany and completed his Bachelor’s (ETS Kniebis, Germany) and Master’s (PTS Cleveland, TN) degrees. At ETS, he met Maite from Spain. They married in 2003 and have two children.
Jivko’s heart burns for worship in spirit and truth and for the growth of God’s Kingdom and His Church in Europe. The focus of Jivko’s ministry as superintendent is to encourage, network, and connect our national leaders and pastors to the global Church of God and kingdom networks. Recently, the first COG church was planted in Switzerland. He is also strongly supporting our missionaries and churches in Greece and Bulgaria who are reaching many refugees, Muslims, and gypsy children for Jesus.
