Dr. Raymond Burch, Jr.
Partner Engagement and Strategic GivingRaymond Burch Jr. is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God with more than 20 years of full-time pastoral and ministry leadership, along with 20 years of distinguished service in the United States Army.
Prior to joining Church of God World Missions, Bishop Burch served for eight years (2018–2026) as Administrative Bishop of the New Jersey Church of God, providing spiritual and administrative leadership to 60 congregations representing a rich diversity of cultures and backgrounds. Throughout his ministry, he has carried a deep passion for reaching people with the Gospel, seeing souls come into the Kingdom of God, and equipping the Church to reach the harvest. His ministry has also emphasized developing pastors and leaders, strengthening the local church, building bridges across cultures, and advancing the Great Commission.
Bishop Burch served for six years on the Church of God World Missions Board and has been reappointed to the Church of God Care Board. While pastoring in South Georgia, he served two terms on the South Georgia State Council and as South Georgia Cross-Cultural Ministries Coordinator, helping strengthen and support multicultural ministry across the state and expand the Church’s reach to diverse communities.
His pastoral journey includes serving as Lead Pastor of River of Life Church in Waycross, Georgia; Lead Pastor of Sunset Family Worship Center in Eastman, Georgia; and Associate Executive Pastor of The Sanctuary on Waldroup Avenue in Douglas, Georgia. He also founded the Southeast Georgia Bible Institute in Waycross.
Bishop Burch earned a Doctor of Ministry in Theology from Life Christian University and has additional training in executive leadership, church consulting, marriage and family counseling, and leadership coaching. He is the author of Struggling with Starting and co-author of Momentum in Marriage.
Bishop Burch and his wife, Rev. Dr. Lorna M. Burch, an ordained minister in the Church of God, have shared nearly three decades of marriage and ministry together. They have three adult children and share a passion for preaching the Gospel, reaching the lost, seeing souls brought into the Kingdom of God, and helping fulfill the Great Commission. Together, they are committed to reaching the harvest, developing leaders, strengthening marriages and families, and helping others discover and fulfill their God-given purpose.
